Violet's Surgery

Violet had her eye surgery today for her entropion.
She has stiches on both of her lower eyelids and will have
to wear this silly cone for two weeks!

Christmas Pictures

Things have been a little crazy with school (work) and school (IUPUI)
so I have missed several blogging opportunities lately.
I've decided to just skip right ahead to Christmas.
Taking our Christmas picture this year was a little challenging.
I can't imagine how much fun it will be when we have babies
to photograph as well!
You'll see the only decent picture we got in our Christmas card
in the mail in the next few days.
This definitely brought back memories of our family
pictures at Mom & Dad's house when we were little!

Violet sleeps in the funniest positions!

Sometimes she wants to get up to follow you

but then falls back asleep:

She heard me leaving the room but couldn't

stay awake long enough to follow me!
If she is tired enough, I can hold
her like this and she'll stay asleep:

Violet can be a little trouble maker,

but we couldn't live without her!

The Little Mermaid

Last weekend I went to see the Little Mermaid

at Beef & Boards with Natalie Ann, Carina, and my mom!

We had a fun time at the show.

Pumpkin Surprise!

John bought me the neatest flower

arrangement in a pumpkin!

Hopefully it lasts until Halloween!

It makes me wish we would've gotten

married in October because they would

make cute centerpieces!

Spoiled Violet

So it's safe to say that Violet is

officially spoiled rotten.

I knew it was heading in that

direction, but here lately it's been

alarmingly obvious.

Every night after work she is desperate

to be held and snuggled. She walks back

and forth between John and I

until one of us finally gives in and holds her.

What have we done!?

Apple Works

This morning we went to Apple Works

in Trafalgar with Violet.

It is a beautiful apple orchard and pumpkin patch

with some animals there as well!

Jack's Dedication

Our nephew Jackson had his baby

dedication at Lesley's church last weekend.

September Birthdays

This weekened we got together in Cincinnati

to celebrate Dad, Andy, & Julie's bdays.

Dad got a new Colts jersey so Eric decided to put his on too!

I know it might be a little early for pumpkins, but I can't wait for fall!

I love when the leaves start to change color,

and it's jeans and sweatshirt weather.

John's Trip to Chicago

John's Grandpa took him and his brothers

to Chicago for the weekend to see a Cubs' game.

They saw the Cubs play the Braves on Saturday.

They stayed at the Drake.

John was so sweet to send me a picture
of purple flowers that they had there.

Karen & Phil's Wedding

My friend Karen got married in

Bloomington yesterday.

The ceremony was at the Rose Well House

on campus. It was so pretty!

Violet's New Hats

We got some baseball hat ice cream cups

and just couldn't help ourselves.

Violet cooperated just long enough

to get a few pics!

Violet's Eye

Violet has entropion in her left eye

and a little in her right eye

which means her bottom eyelids are

folding in and her lashes are scratching

her cornea. She has an ulcer on her

left eye from the scratching.

She's going to have surgery to correct the problem,

but I am very nervous about taking her

in to have it done!

She'll have to have stiches and wear a cone

for two weeks afterwards!

Violet is not very excited about the surgery

(she's hiding under the recliner).

Babies!

We've had a couple of cuties over to

our place the past couple of weeks!

We watched our friends Bryan & Emily's

baby Jackson for a few days.

He had a lot of fun in his Jeep walker.

Last night we got to hang out with our

nephew Jackson for the evening!

School

I'm finishing up my summer classes

just in time for school to start!

The first day for students

is Wednesday, August 11th

which will be here before I know it!

My friend Leslie who I teach with

helped me make this new sign

to hang above my classroom door:

I finished my loop last year so

I'm starting over with 1st graders

this year which should be a fun change.

Bonita Springs

We went to Bonita Springs, FL

for a family vacation.

We enjoyed lots of sunshine!

While we were there my parents

celebrated their 30th anniversary.
