Birthday Party and a Silly Hat

We went to my cousin Ana's son Asher's 

1st birthday party this weekend.

 Asher had the cutest little "one" cape!

All of the kids were so excited about the new toys!

JJ and Violet had some fun together 

after the party before bed!

JJ the Jet

John is really good at making up 

silly songs to make JJ laugh.

Since JJ was a little baby we've been singing 

a song that John made up

from the movie The Sandlot.

One of the character's name is

Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez,

so John started singing:

JJ the Jet Rodriguez,

He's a really big baseball star!

JJ the Jet Rodriguez,

he can hit a ball oh so far!

(There are other verses that we've added)

Who knows where John gets this stuff,

but JJ just loves it and now

"The Jet" has stuck!

 My mom caught silly bear showing off

his belly the other day when he was

getting dressed!

 My sister had this little blue car

when she was little and JJ's been

having a lot of fun with it lately!

 John's mom caught JJ and his Grandpa

having story time together

(look at his sweet little hand!)

 If JJ could make a list of his favorite things,

his snack cup of Cheerios would

definitely be at the top!

 JJ loves this tennis ball container!

He'll spend so long emptying and filling

the container and trying to put the lid back on!

JJ takes trouble making very seriously.

He's getting very good at finding other things

to do besides getting his diaper changed!

He's always on the run!

It's so hard to catch this baby to get him changed!

Box Walking, Trains, and Matching Hats!

JJ likes walking and pushing this box around the living room.

Instead of his usual army crawl,

JJ has started doing a more traditional crawl lately.
Any chance he gets he heads straight
for Violet's water bowl
so we have to put it up and
only get it down when Violet needs it.

He loves to crawl after his train.

He's so determined to fit the animals

back into the correctly shaped spot:

JJ also loves wearing his hat to match Daddy's hat.

He likes taking his hat off and on.

He also loves knocking on doors and windows

and showing off his belly!

Strollers, Window Watching, and More!

We were able to squeeze in a walk

last night before the rain.

Cookie Monster was in a great mood!

It started sprinkling toward the end

so we started to run back, 

and he had a blast!

Look at those smiles!

JJ has 7 teeth (and counting!).

 JJ loves looking outside.  

He thinks it's so funny to see Violet

through the window!

JJ loves to make music and play in the kitchen

at grandma's house!
